There's a smarter way to handle building, reno and DIY materials... and it's not buying them and sending them to landfill.
Builders often order excess materials due to potential damage. If you’re doing a reno or DIY project, you’ll have your own problem: a garage or shed full of perfectly good items and materials you’ve never or barely used.
All of it ends up in the same place: landfill. It’s a waste – of money, resources, space, and if you’re dumping it at the tip yourself, time.
We have a vision for construction sites without overflowing skip bins. Our solution, SALVAGING, revolutionises the circular economy, effortlessly transforming "trash" into cash. Think of it as a seamless fusion of Facebook Marketplace and Uber delivery, simplifying the process of repurposing materials.

Co-Founder – Halina Oswald
Halina is a businesswoman, accountant, and trailblazer in the world of female entrepreneurship and sustainability.
Halina co-founded Salvaging and its sibling business, Her Creation SQUAD, after a career in senior management roles in Finance, HR and research at Monash University. Prior to Monash, she created and ran a successful catering business, while also gaining qualifications in accounting.
Halina is passionate about female empowerment and entrepreneurship, and sustainability, as well as supporting women to explore their creativity.
Halina and her husband Philip have a beautiful family with six wonderful grandchildren.

Co-Founder – Suzanne McConchie
Suzanne is an engineer with a background in automotive product development, sustainable construction, and television.
Suzanne graduated from Swinburne University of Technology with a Bachelor of Engineering (Product Design Engineering), and worked for Ford Australia for over 19 years in a variety of operational and product development roles. She has most recently worked on off-camera television while taking on a new sustainable renovation project on her new home.
Suzanne represents Victoria in Water Polo and played in the Victorian Masters team which won the National Water Polo title in 2021. She is a mum to two boys under 7 and recently helped to build a sustainable passive family home with her husband Patrick. Suzanne is excited to share her knowledge of creativity and making with the Her Creation SQUAD community.
